Naver SMS Verification Numbers

Naver — Korea’s biggest portal, the one behind search, mail, Naver Blog, and the Cafe community boards — asks for phone verification when you sign up. If you’re running a blog or cafe account apart from your main one, or just don’t want to hand over your real number for it, a rented one covers the same screen. Ours start at $0.05 and the code usually lands within a few seconds.

Why people do this instead of using their own number

Keeping a second account separate.Naver Blog and Cafe accounts often start as an add-on to a personal profile, but plenty of people want them apart — a business blog, a community board you moderate, something you’re testing. A rented number keeps that account’s verification off your own line.

Not wanting your real number on a portal you barely use.If Naver isn’t somewhere you’re active every day, there’s not much upside to handing over your actual phone just to get past a signup screen.

Same verification screen either way.Whether it’s a fresh Naver ID, a Blog, or a Cafe registration, the phone check looks the same — a rented number covers all three.

How to verify Naver in 5 steps

1
Register
Free, takes about 30 seconds. No ID, no personal phone number.
2
Add funds
Crypto only for now (BTC, USDT, and a few others) — $5 minimum, no card payments yet.
3
Grab a Naver number
Type "Naver" into the services list, hit Get Number.
4
Enter it into Naver
Wherever Naver's signup screen is asking for a phone number, that's the one you type in.
5
Wait a few seconds
The code shows up in your dashboard on its own. Copy it into Naver and the account's verified.

Questions people actually ask

Does a virtual number work for Naver's phone verification?
Yes — it receives the SMS the same way a real line would. Naver's signup screen has no way to tell it apart from a physical SIM.
Will Naver definitely accept the number?
Can't promise that part — Naver runs its own fraud checks, and once in a while a number gets blocked before anything's even sent. That's on their side, not ours. What we do control is delivery: if the code doesn't come through, cancel the activation and you're refunded automatically.
How long does the SMS usually take?
Usually just a few seconds. Occasionally slower if Naver's own systems are lagging, but that's rare.
Can I add $1 just to test one number?
Not right now — $5 is the minimum top-up, and it's crypto only (BTC, USDT, and a few others), no cards yet. Numbers themselves are still $0.05 and up, so $5 goes a long way.
Does this work for Naver Cafe, not just a regular Naver ID?
Same number, same process — registering a Cafe or a Blog asks for a phone the same way a standard Naver ID signup does.
Is there an API for this instead of using the dashboard by hand?
Yes, if you're verifying more than one or two accounts — same request/response shape the old SMS-Activate API used, so existing integration code mostly just works.
